Life is for living, and living well. We all know that challenges to your good health arise at the most inopportune times. You may need a hand temporarily for yourself, or for a family member.
In the Ulster and Delaware Counties area of New York, Sage assist founder Stephanie Brennan holds several professional certifications.
Home Health Aide
Stephanie provides safe care at home for those who might otherwise be placed in a hospital or nursing home. This allows families to stay intact, and encourages independence, dignity and comfort in familiar surroundings.
Reiki Master
Reiki (pronounced RAY-key) is an ancient method for connecting universal energy with the body’s powers of healing. Its origins are found in the Tibetan sutras, the ancient records of cosmology and philosophy.
The Rei is interpreted to mean knowledge of spiritual consciousness, which is all-knowing. Ki is the life force, also called the vital life force or the universal life force. Reiki Masters and Reiki Practitioners are channels for this healing energy. Many health care professionals are Reiki Practitioners.
Reiki is NOT a religion. It has no dogma. There is nothing you must believe in, to receive, give, or learn to use Reiki.
Always remember: “Reiki can do no harm,” only good. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact Stephanie.
End of Life Doula
An end of life doula is a non-medical person who is trained in holistic care of patients and their families in the last phase of life. The EOLD knows what to expect physically, emotionally and spiritually as one’s body declines, and knows what interventions to suggest for optimum comfort.
The doula can be with the patient for the last few hours of life. However, a doula also usually takes an active role in helping the patient and family prepare for death, and performs what is needed to ease the transition.
Chocolate Enthusiast
For Stephanie, Chocolate has been an integral part of the work with Alzheimer’s clients. The first time she witnessed the soothing result, it led to an “aha!” moment. She has continued to include this most pleasurable and beloved remedy since. There can never be too many chocolate kisses!
Stephanie can testify to the impact of both physical and mental health benefits. Chocolate is known to decrease stress, lower blood pressure, reduce weight, enhance memory, and slow the aging of the brain.
Have some chocolate every day and smile! It’s healthy!
With love,
Stephanie
